how it all started

After working in advertising agencies for over a decade as a copywriter and creative director, I still wanted to work with words, but in a different way. I started taking hand-lettering courses where I discovered I liked the calligraphy-style lettering best, so I began teaching myself how to do actual calligraphy—and it's been an ongoing love affair ever since.

Though neither design or typography was my initial discipline, I've always loved both and have been cultivating an eye for them during my entire education and career.

As for me, I live (and work) in Dallas with my husband, daughter and two cats. I prefer rainy days to sunny, tea over coffee and would rather stay up late than get up early.
